Yeah, looks like they confirmed it right after I posted.

And yes, it's fantastic and it's on Netflix.

So after watching the latest episode of Supergirl just now, the preview for next week's episode showed that they are doing a crossover with The Flash. So that means that despite being on different channels, Supergirl (and by association, Superman) is now officially part of the DC CW-verse. That is friggin' awesome!

Wait, it's in an alternate universe? Well, Flash has already been playing around with the parallel earths idea this season, so i guess that makes sense.

yeah, it does. makes more sense logistically, too. even tho Supergirl and Flash share some showrunners, its prolly not easy to get two different networks to do a crossover like this very often. so when we have alternate universes this can be a one-off while the option is always there to go back when they can negotiate another crossover.

ABC and Marvel have shows on one network and even tho it's "all connected" the plots dont tie up as much as you might hope since Agent Carter takes place like 60+ years in the past. some little winks and cameos to the movies and stuff, nothing major. then the Netflix shows are like, "ehh well we're all gritty and stuff" and Disney's like, "oh, that's right. you guys decapitate each other. ummm... let's put Avenger Tower in the promos but forget to put it in the actual show!" eh, yeah surre

tl;dr - alternate universes solve everything. i like it.
