I haven't seen Yu Yu Hakusho since Cartoon Network black balled it thinking they could pull a DBZ and try making it into a TV-Y7 show to get it higher ratings.  It didn't work and they canceled the remainder of the series from airing on TV after shuffling the show's timeslot to some 4 or 5 in the morning timeslot.

But speaking of Cartoon Network, Toonami has the rights to the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure anime.  The dub starts tonight after DBZ Kai.

If you don't know JoJo, then all you need to know is Za Wurdo, WRRRYYYY, and that it was me, Dio!  =P

TV-Y7 is a pussification of the content, right?

I liked the show up until the point when they went into the demon world... which was immediately, lol. It just looked too ugly to me. This has happened with several shows in the past (I cite Reboot as another such example).

Anyway, where in Jojo's Bizarre Adventure are they beginning? Right from the start? I believe that show has a ton of running lore and shit, which would leave most people totally lost if they got dropped into the middle of it.

Demon Realm was a weak idea that I think ended quite strong. The last few fights were cool, and the final season did some nice character work with all the characters. Plus it was a break from fighting to delve into politics, which is just super different from what the show had done up until then.

It was no dark tournament (season 2), but it wasn't bad at all.

A couple of weeks back, Toei announced some big restructuring of their marketing of the series, and almost immediately after, a bunch of countries started all announcing their own simulcasts of the show. Now it's finally our turn. Consider Dragon Ball is Funimation's biggest cash cow, i think it's no surprise that they would get it eventually. They're starting with a subtitled simulcast, with about twenty-or-so episodes available now, and the rest to be uploaded soon. Also, there will be a dub, which will probably be released next year at some point. Considering the massive improvement of their dub of Kai versus the original DBZ dub (even though we're still waiting on the final arc <_<), i have good expectations for this. I'll probably watch the sub episodes right away, and then buy the dubbed DVDs whenever they release.

Been watching a dramady called Your Lie In April which is about music and child abuse. I mean the main character was kind of abused so child abuse.

it's fucking amazing. Not the child abuse but the rest of it. The animation is awesome, it's all about classical music so the score is PHENOMENAL and really, the characters kick ass. The main guy speaks in purple prose but oh well. He's artsy so I'll forgive it.

Really, really loving it. Wonderful story so far. And like I said, amazing soundtrack. FUUUUUUUCK so good.

I was debating which thread to put this in, but since it was technically produced in Japan and has a japanese audio track, i guess it counts as an anime.

I've been skipping out on a lot of those direct-to-video DC animated movies lately, since they seemed to be declining in quality a bit, imo, but i just may have to buy this one.

I really like Naruto. I know I know, I'm basic as fuck in my taste but I was wondering if anyone else here watches/watched that shit. A guy in a wedding band I'm in told me I'd like it and he was right.

I watched it back in the day, and also read the manga. Personally, i prefer the manga better, particularly during the later parts when the anime enters Filler Hell. The early anime stuff is fine, but eventually it gets to the point where they're practically just doing like 3-4 canon episodes at a time separated by like 10 filler episodes. And it's not even integrated well, either. They'll be in the middle of a heated battle, and then suddenly the next episode is just some random unrelated event in a different location/time but with the same characters. It was getting just unbearable to the point where i stopped watching new episodes every week, and would just check back every couple of months to binge the few non-filler episodes that had released since.

Oh, and i really do not give two shits about the spin-off series with Bort. I started reading the manga version, but stopped after a few chapters cuz i just got bored, and just straight-up haven't seen the anime version. To me, it just feels like a lame cash grab after the success of the original, like with how Yu-Gi-Oh kept going after the original series with GX and 5DS and whatever the fuck other ones there've been.

I did see one filler episode with Konahamaru and decided after that to get a list of the filler. It was really really bad.
