Gonna see this tomorrow, though I don't give a shit about seeing it. Just tagging along with Yori and a couple of her friends. I missed most of the comic book movies because I got tired of seeing them get shat out rapid-fire. The novelty went to hell, and I only watched the ones (A) I really wanted to see, or (B) was dragged into seeing. I guess Avengers 3 will fit the latter bill. I saw the first Avengers in theaters... I don't recall much of it, aside from being underwhelmed due to fan hype prior to watching it, and... well, not finding it very interesting in general. I prefer the movie just focus on a 1 or 2 characters.

But yeah, I'll give my impressions tomorrow. Hopefully I'll like it more this time, since I have anti-hype, if anything, lol.

Easily my favorite film in the MCU, finally knocking down Winter Solider and Iron Man 1. Russo Bros. hit it out of the park.

That ending tho. Goddamn

^Fuckin' this!! It honestly just feels like their making these movies on auto-pilot at this point. I've seen a couple of them on TV, but for the most part, i've just stopped paying attention to the millions of movies they keep shitting out. At this point, i feel like it's only a matter of time before other people realize the same thing and the superhero bubble finally bursts.

Yes, the “bubble” is definitely gonna burst *any day now*. As it turns out, the highest grossing super hero movie all time domestically being followed months later by the biggest worldwide opening for any movie period is absolutely a sign of fatigue. Especially when those records are being set a decade into a 20-film series. Yup. Inevitable.

Spoiler

I just saw A Wrinkle in Time. I liked it. It wasn't without its flaws. The first part felt a bit too much like a Disney Channel movie, for example, but once they went off to space, it started getting good. Probably my biggest gripe was that this one scene from the book that left a pretty large impression on me as a kid was cut out from the movie version. When i read the book, i was in like 5th grade, but i still have my old copy, and as soon as i got home, i grabbed it off my shelf and thumbed through it to that one chapter. It was called Aunt Beast, and even skimming through it now, it is still is filled with such amazing imagery and feelings, and it is so disappointing that it wasn't in the movie. Other then that, though, the rest of the movie, particularly the third act, did a good job hitting a lot of the emotional moments that i remember from when i was a kid.

Wait, they fucking cut the Aunt Beast scene? Lame!

Never did get around to seeing the movie, but I'll snag it when ti's on Netflix.

In hind sight, i probably should've done the same. But then, I've got so many other movies on my netflix queue that I keep meaning to watch but for some reason just haven't gotten around to it.

Ehh, I gotta agree with Prime on that there's really no MCU bubble, although I wish there was cuz I'm tied of this rapid-fire superhero shit.

To give my impressions, I'll paste my shoutbox post:

"[As expected], a ton of it went over by head. On many occasions, the audience was like ROFL! or YEAH! or GASP!, and I was like O..kay? I didn't even know I was looking at Thor and Cap until several scenes with them later. I didn't get why everyone was so excited when they saw Cap; I'm wondering "Who the fuck is this guy?" Then there was this red dude I had never even seen before--and I didn't know they were saying his name either because "vision" is just a common abstract noun. But yeah, it wasn't a bad movie, but it requires way too much previous investment with the prior movies to really enjoy it. The ending wasn't really satisfying for me either, though it coulda been worse. I'd give it a personal 5/10 as far as my enjoyment goes. Don't really care to ever see it again, though."

So, if you're highly invested into the MCU, Prime and X probably have your back. If you've only really seen a couple of them (and presumably don't follow the comics either), you're probably gonna be like me--rooting for the bad guys and anxiously awaiting the credits so you can take a piss after that 2-hour and 40-minute affair.

>>Edit: But yeah, Avengers 3 is better than Avengers 1.

Just to circle back on this, it kinda blows my mind that you feel this way towards superhero films, but dont see this with Nintendo's more recent game library (say from the past 5-6 years).

On topic, IW fucking rocked my world and this hype train on the MCU ain't stopping for me!
