Well another day of getting my ass kicked. When I'm killing someone, I get somebody else or a whole group killing me. Other times I find someone and then I'm dead before I can even counter-attack. Then on occasion I lay into someone and they get out of it and kill me.
Ugh. This is like a Level 1 Goldeneye Wii player facing 7 Level 56 players of all types from spammers, campers, and tankers. Since starting I've only had one round where I nearly went 2/1 KD (15 and 8) last week, came in 4th in a Gun Game (video coming soon) a couple of days ago, and barely get positive on that last Hijacked match today.
Tankers are the biggest reason I bitch like hell when I play on Core. You prolly hear me say it all the time. That's why I strongly suggest you learn your way around the maps. How do you feel around them so far? There are probably some maps that you aren't as familiar with just yet, such as Aftermath and Overflow because those don't get picked as much. You probably know your way around Standoff pretty well, and maybe Raid too. But yeah, once you develop a mental map of each level, you'll want to start hitting up Hardcore mode.
I've never seen a clan of 1337 CoDfags on Hardcore like we did that one night in Kill Confirmed. The worst thing you have there is a clan of rednecks whose names all appear to be a mix of letters and numbers. Their clan tags are actually distinguished roman numerals (in order of which they joined?), but the first characters in all of their names is T4.Z5, and the rest of their name is mixed letters and number-letters. So an example would be something like [III]T4.Z5_F4G7, and such a user would go by the name "Faggot." These guys are the fucking worst in all of Hardcore. They are inappropriately arrogant fuckers that talk shit and camp LIKE HELL, yet they'll bitch about everyone else camping. Many even go as far as to create emblems that antagonize other clans that they deem to be notorious campers. There's a shitload of those assholes in that clan, too--maybe 13.
But my point is that you should start playing on Hardcore as soon as you get a feel for the maps (because on Hardcore you don't have a map on the HUD--that is, you entire HUD is off). The best thing about Hardcore is that enemies rarely ever tank. Well, they NEVER tank on Hardcore, but sometimes they "tank" for what would comparatively be tanking on Hardcore. Many guns kill with a single shot in Hardcore (if not, then the 2nd shot), so that takes away a lot of the bullshit factor experienced when you someone several times first, and then they finally get a beat on you with a stronger gun/lucky shot and you die from 1 hit.
The other hardest part about Hardcore is that your health never regenerates fully. If you're near death, your health will recover to about 50% (which is nothing on Hardcore, but enough to keep u alive). Hell, even on full health, on Hardcore you can kill people left and right using "Improvised" (which was, like, impossible on GE); peg someone with an EMP and they'll die from the impact on their body and not from the blast (which isn't lethal anyway).
So yeah, try playing Hardcore on your own sometime. I know that X and I must be stealing a lot of your kills. When I played GE with X, he would steal my kills left and right and his XP would always be bigger than mine and he'd sit at the top of the leaderboard, but when I'd play alone I would beast a lot harder cuz there's be more guys there for me to eat up. I think you'd get more kills if you played online alone for some rounds too.
But let me warn you: When you play Hardcore, at first you're going to get your ass handed to you. When I started off, my KDR in Hardcore was always bullshit. I think this is only natural since others claimed the same thing happened to them, so don't get discouraged. Take the beating up the ass for a while, but eventually you'll learn the ropes and you'll never have to deal with a bastard tanker again (unless you choose to go back to Core ).
