Somehow I think I'll be missing the events even in this designated thread, but this is better than having it lost in the "offishul thredz."

 

Tangential, but ugh, I hate having to go to a store to get my distributed poke shit. Why can't it all be done via home wifi? >.<

 

...Now that I think of it, is it possible to turn your own router into a GameStop wifi, similar to the way you can trick your router into pulling from the Nintendo World Store for beaucoup streetpasses?

I'm pretty sure in-store events aren't done over the Internet. Maybe someone who has worked at a GameStop or TRU and back me up, but I think there's just a system in back that you connect to directly.

Usually it's a cartridge they put into a 3DS and run in the store, yeah.  

 

Typically when I go on day one I have to check, see nothing's going on, then ask someone to turn it on.  Every time they go, "Well, it is on," and I show them that it's not working and then they open a drawer and go, "Oh, oh no it's not."

Shiny Gengar holding Gengarite and Diancie are dropping in on GameStop this Halloween season.  This event is for both Pokemon X and Y versions and runs October 27th through November 16th.

 

Just like the Heracross/Pinsir Mega Stone event, this new GameStop event will be of the download cards kind.  When you pick up a card, scratch off the download code, visit X/Y's Mystery Gift mode, and "Get with Code".

 

Please note that Diancie's Mega Stone will only be available in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.  It will not be available in X/Y itself.

Yeah, this goes for every other shiny pokémon out there.

 

Mega Gengar is flat-out uber, though. Fast as fuck, and strong as fuck. Making the distribution a Shiny and giving it to everyone who wants one bad enough, kinda does make him less special, though. It doesn't knock down his uber status at all, but it does make seeing them less impressive.

Mega-Gengar was banned by smogon a long time ago because that bitch is overpowered as fuck.
