Ah, I knew we had a few people on the site who refused to play it for motion controls, and I thought I remembered you being one of them.

This combined with lack of funds because poor college kid at the time, yeah. I don't care whether it has the controls that way, I mean I enjoyed Twilight Princess, but it's not like buying it now is easy either (Cue prime posting budaroo link proving otherwise?) But I have heard only the best from it & would love to play it though. It's probably the game I'd most like to be available for download.

Saw a good point brought up: this could potentially mean localized but unreleased games, such as Disaster: Day of Crisis, could get released in the US finally. I wouldn't count on it since fuck NOA, but hey, stranger things have happened.

The original Sin & Punishment tho. Came to US VC despite never being localized. Strange things do happen.

I never got the opportunity to play S&P2, tho. Or Metroid Prime, as I sort of made clear in my introduction. ^_^ So I look forward to being forced to play them by my gf. If only these were in HD.

If only. Every time I see screenshots of games like Galaxy 1 & 2, the Prime Trilogy, and Skyward Sword running at 1080p in the Dolphin emulator I cry. :( And while I'm glad to see some of these games coming to the Wii U, I am bummed that this means official HD remasters are even more unlikely now.

Hopefully if GCN games every come to the Virtual Console they render them at a higher resolution. It should be a lot easier since they wouldn't be bogged down by the Wii's ridiculous software architecture (and of course the games being lower spec doesn't hurt either), but I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't do it... But hey, they did bump all N64 games up to 480p on the Wii VC (most were native 240p), so there's that.

To start things off, Super Mario Galaxy 2 has been released in the US today. For their first week of sale these games will be $9.99, with a bump to $19.99 afterwards. Future games will include Donkey Kong Country Returns, Metroid Prime Trilogy, Kirby's Return to DreamLand, Punch-Out!!, Pandora's Tower, and Sin & Punishment 2.

Dammit! i want all of these games. Why do i want all of these games??? i already own all of these games!

Fuck you Nintendo! (love you, please live a long an healthy existence)

I guess with these digital Wii games, Nintendo didn't bother reupping the "Virtual Console" trademark and so the Virtual Console banner in the eShops are gone.  Note:  The classic games are still present (they have not been taken down), it's their classification that's gone.  All classic re-releases are no longer "Virtual Console".

Whether if this means Nintendo no longer wants to use the Virtual Console name or no longer wants to use it and will come out with a new classification for these classics at a later time is unknown.

Metroid Prime Trilogy is now available for download!  The download is taking forever...

Never played 1 and 2 with Wii controls, looking forward to it.

I have it on disc. The Wii controls are fun, but i didn't like that they changed some enemy locations and log entries in the first game. Hope you enjoy it, though.
