Part of me is excited, part of me doesn't want to see yet another rebooted spider man character.

I don't get what this means. I also didn't read the article. But I did see him alongside the avengers. But.... Spider man is already in the "marvel cinematic universe" as far as I'm concerned. He's got, like, 5 or 6 recent movies. If this means he'll be in avengers, then... is that canon to the comics, then why hasn't he been in there yet? And if not, then... milk it. hehe, I guess you're happy tho, so that would mean more fans would too. What's next though, x-manz in avengers?

The common sense thing to do would be to read the article, Plant.  :|

Of course that does involve actually having to click on the link. :P

The "Marvel Cinematic Universe" refers to the on-screen Marvel canon, which includes all live-action films and TV shows produced by Marvel in-house. Spider-Man, while a Marvel property, is not part of the MCU as it exists in a separate canon due to Sony owning full rights to the property, not Marvel/Disney. Similarly Fox owns full rights to X-Men and Fantastic Four, so none of those films are part of the MCU either. Now, because of this deal Marvel finally has creative involvement in Spider-Man and the newly rebooted series will be folded into the MCU canon. So yes, this means we can (and will) see Spidey fight along-side the Avengers (and yes, Spidey is often involved with the Avengers in the comics).

This actually is really exciting. I've always thought it was pretty lame that Spider-Man wasn't in the MCU. I've really enjoyed Andrew Garfield's characterization of Peter Parker, much, MUCH more than Tobey Maguire's. So I really hope they plan on using him in the next Avengers movie rather than picking a totally different actor for Spider Man.

All of this news was actually leaked way back during the Sony hacks (well sort of, at the time it was all just talk). It was also leaked that Garfield was fired after Amazing Spiderman 2 under-performed at the box office. So yes, it will be yet another actor.

As I said, part of me is excited that spider-man will be in the MCU, but part of me is frustrated by yet another spider-man actor/reboot.

Still, this is amazing news (see what I did there :P )

Looks like Marvel is pushing back their Phase 3 releases to make room for Spider-Man. The first Spider-Man film will be taking Thor: Ragnarok's place on June 28th, 2017. In turn Thor will be bumped to Black Panther's November 3rd, 2017 release, Black Panther will take Captain Marvel's July 6th, 2018 date, and Captain Marvel will be releasing on Inhumans' former date of November 2, 2018. Finally, Inhumans will be getting bumped all the way to July 12th, 2019. Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 (May 4, 2018) and Part 2 (May 3, 2019) will not be affected.

Seriously so excited for this announcement. Hoeever, people are noticing some things about the push-back of films, namely the Inhumans and Black Panther time lines getting screwed-up for their possibility of being in Infinity War Pt 1 & 2. I'm sure Marvel has a will and a way, but it'll sure be interesting to see how that pans-out.

Also, I hate that they're not confirming him in Civil War. The lack of confirmation gives me about a 1% doubt that he won't be in it. But it makes no sense at all NOT to include Spiderman in this movie. Now I'm just wondering who will be cast as the new Spiderman.

Honestly, while Spiderman is one of the few Marvel characters that i actually like, i don't really care to much about this news. I've stopped watching those Marvel movies, and i personally don't think the inclusion of Spidy is gonna make me come back and suddenly wanna watch Avengers 2 or whatever. And while i'm sure i'm probably in the minority on this, i actually preferred the original SM trilogy to the new movies. Hell, i didn't even see the second one just cuz the first one bored me so much. Regardless of the acting talent of the two Spidermen, i think the first set of movies had more of a light-hearted fantastical feel to them that made them feel a lot more fun to watch. The new movies (or at least the one i saw) just felt like they were trying to be way to serious and realistic like so many other comic book movies these days are. It was the same problem i had with Man of Steel, and as a big Superman fan, i really wanted to like that movie, but it just sucked all the joy out of the character.

tl;dr: Marvel can do what they want with Spidy. I just don't care anymore.
