And here's a demo of a competent player without commentary talking over the gameplay. I don't think it's actually the "full" demo as advertised, but here you go!

The female host asks "What I love about survival horror games is the limited supplies, you really have to think things through, is that an element you guys are working with?" UH YEAH YOU THINK? THEY INVENTED THIS GENRE BRUH.

I mentioned this on Discord the other day, but i really don't get why RE2 is so special. I guess it's probably cuz the first RE games i played were the remake of 1 and 0 on the GameCube. After that, i went and got 2, 3, Code Veronica, and eventually, 4 all on the GCN. I guess after playing a remake tailor made for the console, 2 and 3 being more straight-up ports just felt like a massive down grade. 3 at least had the memorable Nemesis that chased you around the whole game, but 2 didn't really have anything that made it stand out to me. It honestly felt like the weakest of the 6 games that I played on the GameCube. So I really don't get the hype for a remake. Honestly, I'd much rather have a remake of some of the other games in the series, but then, I also kinda stopped caring about the RE series long ago.

RE2 is better than 3 for basic game design reasons, though it doesn't have anything as terrifying as the Nemesis. That fucker CHARGES at you, and the moment you realize that he busts straight through loading doors, bricks WILL be shat. But RE2 has 2 different "campaigns," each with their own Scenario A and B variants, providing a subtle freshness of having 4 different playthrough possibilities. The cast of characters and enemies are more memorable, too.
Just as it occurred with X, and probably with most Nintendo-based Resident Evil fans, or RE2 was the first Resident Evil game I played, since it was the first RE game on a Nintendo console. But even without that nostalgia factor, RE2 is great from a design and narrative perspective, and that's why it's so well loved by fans.
For those who have played the original, whether you liked it it not, here are some key differences between the PS1/N64 version and the PS4/Xbone version.
