I let myself be bullied about playing Pokemon in highschool. Red and Blue came out my first year in high school - I was also a scrawny lanky geek and had low self esteem, superlatives are different now for kids. Anyway, I stopped playing it soon after and played my "bro" games like Golden Eye and Mortal Kombat 3. I really wish I stuck with it, those games were fun. :(

Lo, the same thing happened with me. IIRC, the games and anime started the summer before my freshmen year, and on the first day of high school, I made the grievous mistake of wearing a Pokemon t-shirt. That pretty much killed my entire first year, but luckily, the other three years turned out not so bad. Eventually, I found these other two guys who liked the games, and I learned that it was okay to like the series as long as i didn't advertise my love for it. Luckily, these days I can wear pokemon shirts out in public all I want and nobody bats an eye.

Forgive me, but Halo online makes me scream really racist shit at my TV because shotguns and rocket launchers are bullshit :(

I don't use a mic, so you know, the bad words are for my ears alone, but still. It's not a habit I enjoy having.

Mother Brain, forgive me. Tonight I actually said to my daughter, "I think you should go play Sonic Boom."

Mostly because it sounds like she's only a few boss fights away from beating it, and with the exception of one horrible river section that I did, and a boss fight my wife helped on (so who knows if she could have done it herself), she's almost beaten this game by herself. For some reason, I'd like to see her end-credit a game on her own, even if it's this one.

Jeebus, how could you do that to the poor girl. That'd be like saying "Go watch that Human Centipede movie over there". You're luckily you didn't traumatize the poor girl for life.

I think I did traumatize her, 'cause she got to another part that's as bad as the river part I guess. Both the river part and where she is now (some submarine ship thing) are basically twin-stick shooter sections, which she's not good at. I'll probably have to help her this weekend ... if she's not too busy playing on the Webkins web site, now that it works again. *shudder*

That's cool. When she's older if she's still into games and so are her friends she'll be able to say, "The first game I beat was Sonic Boom", and laugh about it with her buddies who probably would relate to the cartoon and the times. I think it's rather nice.

I'm not a parent but I would assume the fastest way to get a kid to hate a game is to make them play it. "muh boys will only play da mariohs in order until they can beat it then they move onto the sonics" Enjoy your cutter, dad.

Forgive me Chozo, for I have sinned.

I have never beaten Super Mario Bros.

I have only beaten 3 Metroid games: Prime, 2 Echoes, & Fusion

After collecting all PoKeMoN in PoKeMoN Red version, I said "that was fun, let's do that again" and restarted my game.

Forgive me Chozo, for I have sinned.

I played through almost the entire Halo 5 campaign using default controls.

What are the defaults like, though?
