Also, can we maybe branch-out the discussion to include Halloween traditions or happenings, maybe share a few stories?

Also, when saw this thread bumped just now, i figured plant had posted the pictures of his costume that he had showed us during the Mario Kart tourney last night.

Cool. So typically beginning at the end of September I'll have begun watching scary movies already. Usually the classics, and newer familiar favorites. This year I tried a few new ones on Netflix, including Children of the Corn, an RL Stine movie (kiddy, but fun to watch), among a few others. Watched Saw & Saw 2 already, Hotel Transylvania. Fiance likes Hocus Pocus and Nightmare Before Christmas so I've seen those on too. If I can, I try to watch Halloween episodes of shows I like. So far this year I've seen some from The Office, Spongebob, Family Guy, Cleveland Show, and maybe 1 or 2 others.

I also like to try to hike a bit with the weather being damn near perfect out. Midwest Ohio has leaves changing colors, usually sunshine with an occasional wind. Maybe mid 60's are about average this time of year.

For Halliween itself, I love decorating. Halloween decorations are by far and large my favorite. They probably always have been because of my favoritism towards the holiday, being that it's also my Birthday. While I don't much consider shopping a hobby, getting cool Halloween trinkets or decorations is always fun.

Growing up I lived out in the country, a few miles from my hometown. We never had trick or treaters. It was until I met my fiance that I had the opportunity to finally enjoy passing out candy. I quite enjoyed it, but have still only done it maybe once or twice.

Also love the costumes. I'll elaborate in awhule, gotta get dinner, to be continued....(hoping perhaps this sparks discussion)

I have a halloween memory from 1987, which is the last time I went out trick-or-treating (I was 13 ... probably a year or two too late to be my last year ;) ). Back then, you could dress up like this and not get taken down by the cops (although I don't know why any self-respecting mercenary would wear a pinkish/purplish shirt on a nighttime mission.

This was also the year that a  month later, while on Thanksgiving vacation in Florida, I was diagnosed as type-1 diabetic. The worst part is that I had saved some of my best candy to eat later on, so I had to come home and throw it out, because back then the lifestyle of a diabetic was low/no sugar. Thank goodness for carb-counting and insulin pumps, so I can get fat and sick like everyone else gorging on candy after halloween these days. :D

Damnit, dude, you're diabetic too? First EP, and now you, too? Well, technically you came first, and EP is no longer here cuz he's too cool for us or whateverthefuck, but, but the world revolves around me and my perception, so first EP and now you too?! Shit! :(

Also, lol, I thought of this when I saw your pic. :P

I probably will be some day, too. Both of my parents have it, and i'm told it's hereditary. I'm dreading the day it hits me, since i can't stand the taste of artificial sweeteners. I'd sooner drink toilet water than diet soda.

That's an odd combination, but whatever floats your boat.

Type 1 or type 2? I'm guessing since you've made it this long without, it's type 2. Gonna switch to toilet water now? :)

I dunno. I'm not really sure what the difference is. I just know my dad has to take a pill every day and can't drink regular soda or certain foods with too much sugar in them.
