Hey everybody, so I know we all like reporting what we're currently playing on occasion in hopes to spark general discussion. I think it'd be great to start a thread about what we're watching--TV, streaming, you name it--again, to spark discussion. As always, anything considered spoiler-y should be marked as such. So let me start:

With some of my Christmas money, I bought the original TMNT cartoon for around 50 bucks. I've been watching these episodes on and off whenever I don't feel like gaming. I've noticed that some of the coloring or audio is off (i.e., Leonardo with swords has orange bandanas, or Donatello speaks with Michaelangelo's voice.) But otherwise, it's all in good fun. And damn, that catchy theme song...

I binge-watched the hell outta Making a Murderer earlier this week. Started it at about 10 o'clock Sunday night, and it was seriously so thought-provoking that I was watching til after 3:30 in the morning. I went to work Monday, got home and finished it--all 10 hours within a 24 hour timeframe. Not sure if proud, or ashamed. Without giving much away, please just watch the trailer first. I don't watch shows like CSI or anything really even closely related to it, but my goodness is it an interesting documentary series. (See also: the podcast 'Serial,' though I haven't listened to it yet). I can't recommend it enough.

Before that I finally caught up on the most recent 2 or 3 seasons of South Park. I've been a huge fan of the show for a long time, and it was nice to finally catch up with the series. I think I only have a couple more episodes until I'm finished.

Additionaly, the fiance was watching season 3 or 4 of Once Upon A Time, and I watched a few episodes of it. No major twists or anything that isn't predictable, and understanding really what's going on claws difficult so far into the series. It was interesting to see how the various storybook characters were brought into the story, even if only a cameo. I guess that's the show's draw.

More recently, the fiance and I started season 4 of New Girl. Super hilarious show. If you don't care much for Zoey, the actors playing Nick & Schmidt make the show worth watching.

And as always, when we go to bed we usually play Family Guy of The Office, and possibly even The Cleveland Show, Parks & Rec (which I can't wait for the final season to be on Netflix), or New Girl.

EDIT: Since we already have the Brinstar Cinema thread, let's just keep this thread for tv show discussion.

Yeah, I have all ten seasons of the original series on DVD. I wish i could get the 2003 series, but by the time i took notice of it, Nickelodeon had already bought out the franchise and quickly forced all DVDs of it out of print. The only ones i was able to get before they were discontinued were boxsets of the entire first season. However, over the last year, i did notice that the cable channel NickToons was airing that series slowly throughout the year, one season at a time. I took advantage of the situation and watched through all seven seasons, plus the crossover movie that ended the series. It was amazing. I honestly think that the 2003 cartoon is now my favorite incarnation of the franchise. Also, at several points during the series, there was this rabbit samurai character who would shot up. I remember him as a character of the day in the 80s cartoon, but he was a lot more interesting here. I did some research and found out about the comic he came from, Usagi Yojimbo, and ended up getting a large boxset of those comics for xmas. They are amazing, but that's a discussion for another thread. But yeah, the '03 turtles are now definitely my favorite version of the characters.

Also, I thought there was already a TV thread?

I'm not sure if I've seen much of the 2003 version of it. Maybe the occasional episode here or there. I'm not particularly fond of the darker tone and art style though. I've probably seen more of the current TMNT series on Nickelodeon, to be honest (and I don't have cable).

And if there is a TV thread, perhaps I'm unaware of it. Tried a search, didn't turn anything up, so who knows.
