So yeah a controversy has brewed since the IW reveal trailer.

Seems the CoD community is rebelling due to IW being another futuristic shooter with advance movement systems instead of being a past/modern shooter with boots on the ground.  Also not helping is tying CoD 4 Remastered to certain bundles of IW.

I'd like to a note some irony here though.  Back before CoD 4 was originally a thing, Activision didn't think a modern shooter would sell and had Treyarch make World at War, a WWII shooter incase CoD 4 bombed.  Instead CoD 4 was a massive success and World at War was hated for being just another World War II shooter in an oversatured World War II shooter market (WaW would be later vindicated thanks to Blops and Zombies).

It's looking like Infinity Ward's Infinite Warfare will be the "World at War" of futuristic shooters as Activision probably has Sledgehammer and Treyarch making a past/modern shooter for CoD 2017 and CoD 2018 respectively.

I don't think W@W is or was hated? I know it didn't get as much attention, but I believe the consensus was always positive. It was just less interesting at the time, and it was back when people kind of ignored Treyarch games.

Also, fun comparison: the IW trailer is the most disliked video game trailer ever. The Battlefield 1 trailer is the most liked trailer ever. Like, of any kind, even movie trailers. Doubt it will mean much in terms of sales, but damn.

A e3 2016 gameplay trailer from IW's campaign mode was shown.  A popular CoD YouTuber adds his comments after the trailer.  We're waiting for the CoD 4 Remastered gameplay trailer next.

A supposed leak has happened that reveals some of the killstreak rewards for multiplayer.  This is all rumor for now, though if true, it seems like IW is going for a hybrid Points/Scorestreak system in that the Strike Packages from Modern Warfare 3/Ghosts are coming back, but this time you earn them through Scorestreaks (every kill, assist, destroyed equipment, destroyed scorestreak, and executed objective give score for Scorestreaks).

The following is not a complete list of Scorestreaks if this rumor is true.

Assault Strike Package - This is your standard Kill/Scorestreak system.  Amass enough score in one life without dying to call in these offensive/support Scorestreaks.

  • Spy Satellite (SpySat) - 350 Score:  This sounds like the standard CoD UAV.  An orbital vehicle sweeps the map to reveal enemy positions for 30 seconds.  Call in more to have sweeps done more faster in the 30 second timeframe.
  •
  • Orbital Drop - 500 Score:  This sounds like the Care Package.  You call it in and you'll receive a random Scorestreak reward.  Certain streaks may never be available in this drop.
  •
  • G.E.D. (Gravitational Explosive Device) - 550 Score:  This sounds like the I.M.S., but can be deployed in the air/space.  The I.M.S. works like in that if anyone comes near this proximity device, they will get blown up.
  •
  • Rocket Strike - 700 Score:  This sounds like the Predator Missile/Trinity Rocket.  You find someone safe to call out this Scorestreak and a missile will rapidly fly into the ground.  You have to aim it at enemies or enemy equipment/Scorestreaks.
  •
  • Assault Rover - 1000 Score:  This is like the A.G.R./Cerebus from the Black Ops series.  A robot that can either be manually controlled or autopiloted by CPU.  It will probably have machine guns and small rockets to fire at enemies and equipment.
  •
  • E.T.S (Enemy Tracking Systems) - 1050 Score:  This sounds like the Advance UAV.  All enemies are marked as triangles showing you where they are and where they are looking.  There is no word if this works like the Oribital VSAT (continuous until it expires or is destroyed)  or if it works like the Advance UAV (triangles only appear every few sweeps until streak expires or is destroyed).

Support  Strike Package - Everything in this package is support-based.  Should you die, you will not lose your score for Support Strike Package items.

  • Spy Satellite - 500 Score
  •
  • Satellite Hack - 600 Score:  This sounds like a Counter-UAV or EMP.  This should jam enemy radar.  It is unknown if this will make enemy Spy Satellite friendly ias well (like the Wiretap perk from Ghosts).
  •
  • Ballistic Vests - 650 Score:  This should work the same from Modern Warfare 3 and Ghosts.  Equipping a vest basically doubles your health to 200 allowing you to take more damage before dying (unless you get a new vest).  Deployed vests can be destroyed by guns, knives, and explosives.
  •
  • E.T.S. - 1350 Score
  •
  • Cyber Attack - 1550 Score:  This sounds like the EMP/Ground Jammer from previous games.  This probably will destroy all active enemy equipment and electronic Scorestreaks, but also prevents enemies from calling in electronic/aerial/orbital Scorestreaks for a time.

Specialist Strike Packge - If you amass enough score in one life without dying, you are awarded bonus perks of your choosing for yourself.  You can get a bonus perk for 300 Score, 500 Score, and 700 Score.  If you get 1000 Score in one life, you get a specialists bonus activating the rest of your chosen bonus perks.  It is unknown if the game will award you more perks besides your chosen ones when you get your bonus.

Remember this all is a rumor and may not be everything from the final release if this rumor pans out true.

We're going back to the 1980's in IW Zombies!

So totally the 80s.

The 80s Zombie mode does look really cool, but... by now I know all too well that the Zombies mode is just way too fucking hard. Or maybe I just don't get it. But I can't even have a decent amount of fun before I get killed by bullet-sponge-ass, ass-hauling, ass-ass zombies. Whatever the reason, I can never get to have nearly the amount of fun depicted in the Zombies trailers, which leaves me disappointed and cause me to avoid the mode altogether.

I don't think I'm playing shit right, but I don't get very far and the game does a very poor job of explaining what to do to progress in the stages before the zombies get too high-leveled and I get my ass kicked. I need to either watch videos online, or get in a room with someone who evidently already did. I've gotten every CoD game since BO2, but I really don't think I'll be doing it this year, since I have other long-ass games to play like FFXV...

But then again, I'll probably capitalize on that Target Buy-2-Get-1 sale and snatch up this Infinite Bullshitâ„¢ in the process. I mean, it's not like Nintendo's got any games scheduled for the rest of this year. What's that you say? Mario Paper Paint Shit??? Metroid Force Federations??? No, I said games.

>>Edit:

Oh, and I thought that black dude was based off of 50 Cent, so I was all :D, but then I heard his voice and it didn't match, so then I was all :(.

The trick to Zombies is during a round you decide you need to get shit done, leave one zombie alive and kill the rest.  If you use an explosive without shooting a zombie, you'll blow their legs off leading to either a fast crawler or a slow crawler.  You ideally want a slow one.  If you get a crawler during the round, keep away from it so you can kill the rest unless the crawler gets in the way and you have no choice but to off it and try to make a different zombie a crawler (if you get a fast crawler and have extra zombies to spare, kill that crawler and try again).

With one crawler (hopefully a slow one), you'll have the time to start getting shit done.  Listen to the player characters and any NPCs that speak to you.  They'll give hints as to what you should be doing.  Also search your chosen map for clues.  Though please note if you get too far away from a crawler zombie, it will die and respawn close to you fully healed (they get their legs back).  If you're playing with one or more people, get one of them to distract the zombie (make them draw aggro).

If you don't need to do anything (including restocking your weapons/ammo), then you draw aggro while your team does shit.  It takes a lot of time to work through the map and find its secrets though be mindful of your points.  You need to amass enough points for opening up the map and also get weapons and perks.  Sometimes you just might have to delay doing shit to farm enough points to start doing stuff.

The "Nuke" kill/gunstreak is coming back in IW, but there is a change in how you get your hands on one compared to past Infinity Ward games.  This is also subject to change since Inf. Warfare will have a beta period to iron out things that people have problems with during the late alpha and entire beta periods of the game (like the icon for the nuke being the KEM icon from Ghosts).

In Inf. Warfare, you can get a nuke only if you have an Elite/Legendary version of a gun that has the nuke equipped as a gun perk.  If you get your hands on a weapon, then all you can do is just kill 25 enemies in a row with your gun/knives/C4/etc. without using Scorestreaks (but called Pointstreaks in Inf. Warfare) to get kills.  Once you get your kills, you earn your nuke which a massive spaceship rolls onto the map and drops a massive attack on the map that kills all alive enemies and maybe makes them respawn under an EMP effect for a full minute (they won't get to call in Pointstreaks if they're electronic-natured).

I have no idea of the nuke bonuses from past Infinity Ward games will continue (as in getting a nuke activates 2x XP for your team for the remainder of the ,atch -- provided if your enemies don't get one to steal the 2x XP bonus from your team).  But like always, the nuke will not end the game unlike back in Modern Warfare 2.

Well Infinite Warfare beta has started...  And it's not looking any good.

402Thunder402:

I AM WILDCAT (near 6 hour livestream):

So far it's looking like Ghosts map design plus time-to-kill (unless you're using a shitty gun), Advanced Warfare weapons (variants), and Black Ops 3 movement systems.  That's right.  Supply drops are in the beta and you can craft weapon variants if you don't want to pay-to-win.  Also quickscoping is back with a vengeance.

It's looking like Infinite Warfare is going to be dead at the start of next year either because people will go to CoD 4 Remastered or they go back to Black Ops 2 for another year.  Black Ops 3 didn't survive the full CoD year.  People bailed on that game six months after launch, so I doubt anyone would like to return to it unless they want a million shitty combat knife reskins and over-powered Blackjack and the Purifier specialist weapon.

EDIT - Ali-A (fan-vid sent to Ali):

Welp.  Depending on the mode, the nuke can end games instantly a la Modern Warfare 2.  You just need to get 25 gun/C4/grenade/melee consecutive kills with no Pointstreak kills and Payload kills being counted toward nukes.

Looks like Black Ops 1's Ghost Perk is back in IW.  Yes like in Black Ops 1, you can sit in corners and never appear on the minimap during UAV sweeps (unless Advanced UAV is called in or you shoot unsilenced weapons).
