Do you remember at one time Sony had a capability included in PS3s that let users install other OSs onto PS3s with the top choice being Linux OSs?  Remember Sony issued a mandatory update that removed the other OS functionality which basically stripped people's PS3s of their additional OSs that led to class-action lawsuits against Sony?

Sony has finally decided to settle the case after six years in litigation.  They will pay 55 dollars each for every person that proved they lost their other OS installation (said to be 10 million users in all) on the "fat" PS3 (original model) and 9 dollars each for every person that proved they only got a PS3 for Sony's advertised other OS function.

This settlement is still waiting for court approval in July which is when this case picks back up.  If the judge approves it, the settlement will go into effect.
