Discuss your Pokémon Go successes, failures, and general stories here.

Right now I'm at level 8 with 117 Pokémon. My most powerful is a 488 CP Magmar, followed by a 453 Pidgeot. Almost ALL of those are from yesterday, haha.

Well, with what little i was able to get on the day it launched, combined with stuff from today now that i can finally log in again, i just reached level 5. I got about 20-30 pokemon. Of those, i got 4 weedles, which gave me just enough candy to evolve one of them. I also got a clefairy and a diglet from using incense, and found an evolved Pidgeotto while on my lunch break today.

>>Edit: Oh, and I'm Level 3.

I'm Level 4 now. And I caught Few more pokes... and missed some thanks to the program fucking up on me. You know, I'm so happy they ran a beta of this dogahit to fix all the bugs. This game is perfect. Fucking bullshit.

Spoiler

So on the first day, before the server errors knocked me out of commission for several days, i dropped $5 on some of those pokecoin things, just to get started until i found a way to earn them. So then today, after catching a few small fry during my lunch break, i noticed i was down to five pokeballs, so i cashed in most of those coins for another 100 balls. Then, as i'm leaving at the end of my shift, right there in the parking lot I stumble upon a Pidgeot. This was the first red-ringed pokemon i've seen so far, and it's a good thing i bought those extra balls, cuz it took about forty of them to finally catch the thing. Granted, most of those balls were wasted cuz i couldn't even hit the damn thing, and even when i did hit it, it took forever for it to stay in the damn ball. I heard you can eventually get great balls when you reach higher levels (I'm currently lv 6), but i really could've used some just now. Oh well, at least i got the damn thing.

Tomorrow i get off work rather early, so i'm thinking of heading into town to check for more pokemon and some poke spots. Pretty much everyone i work with is also playing the game, and some of them have told me where in town there are some poke spots and gyms.

Also, here's some pictures:

Look out, Nic, that Zubat is coming right for you!

If I paid money, I'd get the backpack upgrade and pokemon upgrade first. I have 30 coins from hosting pokemon at various gyms. I don't know if I would buy pokeballs, but I also have a shitload of pokestops within, hell, even a 1-block radius. A Day every few to stock up is all ya need though. Skate park by me has I in a circle that refresh every 5 minutes. 2 or 3 laps there with an average of 2 pokeballs/pokestop would be about 50 or so.

I can't imagine trying to play this game back where I grew up though. Or anywhere rurally. My friend in a semi-big enough city has like no good spawns, unlike my or my brothers apartments. Hell, he told me he caught a beedrill, venomoth, and several others just sitting in his room. When I drove by his place I caught a bulbasaur, ekans, and growlithe. And at my place I've caught seel, shellder, tentacool, (not even by water), vulpix, ghastly, drowzee, and more.

I'm loving this game so much though.

I forgot: what did the dipshit say during the Pokémon GO Treehouse or whateverthefuck during E3 say about catching Pokémon--that it's better to throw the ball when the circle is smallest, or when it's biggest?

The pokeball hits in the circle for 3 ranges. You can get Nice, Great, or Excellent, each of which grants additional xp the smaller it gets. But that's ONLY if you hit the pokeballs in the circle. Nice gets 10xp, great gets either 25 or 50 (I forget), and excellent grants 100 extra xp.

Personally, I try to just get nice all the time.

Why aim for Nice? Cuz it's easier to catch pokes that way? Sounds like smaller is better, gettin your description. I think I'll aim for smaller circle if it means more XP--especially since I can't even fuckin fight pokes yet cuz I'm only Lv4.
