Just a heads-up for anyone looking to fill in their Pokémon game collections that used game prices are going up for older Pokémon games!  If there is an older game you got your eye on, better buy it ASAP!  That 30 dollar Pokémon Stadium 2 N64 game now might be 300 dollars later!

There is no word if scalpers are trying to cash in Pokémon Go or if this is a legitmate case of many Go players looking for older Pokémon games.

Ooo, I still have a spare copy of Sapphire for GBA that I got in a grab bag at Goodwill for $5 a year or so ago. Maybe I can flip it on eBay for $200! :P

I could probably do the same with a second copy of LeafGreen i picked up at a rummage sale a few years back.

Gee, guess not. These totally legit copies of Pokemon are only going for $4.95.

Great for fans of the game, and children (even if they don't like Pokemon).

Best part is, I can tell without even zooming into the picture on the actual auction page that these are all counterfeit carts (even if the price and country of origin didn't give it away).

I kinda wanna get either fire red or leaf green at some point. Same for heart gold or soul silver. And same for diamond or pearl (I skipped gen 4) :S they were are already so expensive prior to Pokémon Go launching!

TBH I wouldn't bother buying any older Pokémon games online. You basically have a 90% chance of them being bogus. Best to just pray for a VC release SOMEDAY.

Goddammit TPC, you'd be raking in SO MUCH right now if you had all of the Pokémon games on the VC.

I can only think that with the success of R/B/Y on 3DS, plus Pokémon Go now, that the announcement regarding gen 2 release is all too true for what's on the horizon.

I'd love to believe that, but then it's Nintendo/TPCi/GameFreak.

Why wouldn't they rerelease G/S/C on Virtual Console? The R/B/Y rerelease was one of the most successful VC releases ever. IMO, it's not about whether or not they will release G/S/C, but rather when they'll release them.

The thing is though if TPC/GameFREAK redo G/S/C for Virtual Console, there's gonna be a price increase for the games.

For R/B/Y on VC, they changed Jynx's skin color, offered a number of regional ROMs, plan to add Bank compatbility, enabled access to the Surfing Pikachu mini-game in Yellow, and allowed the link-cable functions to use the 3DS's wireless Download Play feature which raised the prices to 10 bucks each.  If TPC had just simply ported them instead, it would have been 3 bucks each.  Game Boy Color games usually run about 6 bucks and if TPC treat G/S/C with R/B/Y care, I can see the prices going 12 or even 15 bucks each.
