I don't post much here anymore, so I don't know how many of you actually know I've been making a video game. Probably enough because this has been a five-year project and I imagine I mentioned it at least once or twice over that time span. It's not like this site has grown in membership since then.

Anyhow, we got a Steam page and an official trailer on Youtube

AMA, I guess. Share if you think it looks cool. We don't have a marketing budget right now so it's kinda word of mouth and hoping websites will read the emails I've sent.

Yeah, you definitely talked about it quite about it. Everyone here should know about The Regret of Viterran... err, The Land of Glass. :3

Hehe, I agree that The Land of Glass is a better name, but what was the reason for the name change? Cuz the first one was too emo?

Anyway, congrats on the project finally getting see for official release! Do y'all anticipate having to do patches for bug fixes once others get their hands on them? How about a Day-1 patch? Those are all the rage nowadays! I mean, can you even really call it a video game if it doesn't have a Day-1 patch? Lol, but srsly, are y'all planning/preparing for necessary potential bug fixes once the public gets to try it out?

We changed the name because no one knew how to say or spell "Vitrerran." I still like the first name, and I still call the game that on occasion, but as far as spellable, searchable words, it was a bad title.

Vitrerran was basically a combination of the Latin words for "glass" and "terrain," so The Land of Glass is just extrapolating that into English :P

As to day one patch, we hope we won't need one. We've done a fair amount of testing, but you're only going to find so much. If people find bugs, we'll fix them as fast as we can. The game is like a gig total, so a patch would at least be a small download.

Could this be easily ported to Switch using touch screen controls? I dunno what it'd take, but I think I'd feel badass if I were you and I had a fucking Switch game on the eShop. :P You know I'm not really into indie games, but I'd probably get it if it were on a console.

Currently conversing with Nintendo about this. Well, by conversing I mean we sent an email and they sent us a form letter telling us to send more info.

But yeah. We're hoping to get this on Switch, ideally within the next few months. Don't know how fast they'll be in sending us dev kits, if they do at all.

I will say this right now: If you can get it on the Switch, then you can definitely count on me to buy it.

:)

I really hope we can. Switch is a really booming market for indie games, and we'd like to get in before it gets saturated. Going to compile the info they want this weekend and hope for the best.

Switch seems like a solid platform for this (and indies on Switch have been doing massive business, far exceeding even their PC counterparts), so I hope you guys can pull that off! Would be crazy to have a Switch game from someone I've known for like 14 years, even if only online hahah.

You checking out ID@Xbox too? IIRC you can use a vanilla Xbox One as a dev kit if you get approved, so the start-up costs aren't too bad.

We haven't really considered it, though I suppose we could. The game can be played with a controller or even a keyboard. Takes a little more getting used to, but it can be done.
