Shin Megami Tensei V

19 February 2018 - 07:33 AM

Instead of restarting a thread with all the info you don't care about, I'm continuing it as if the purge of 2017 never happened.

Some news here. I also found this paragraph nice for people who play Switch primarily on the TV but is there an undertone of Switch not having the hardware and horsepower the developers are hoping for their new game?

I believe this is your first time producing a game for Nintendo Switch. Can you share some thoughts on what kind of game you’d like to make for the new hardware?

Yamai: Firstly, considering that it’s our first home console title in a good while, I want it to have magnificent content that can be thoroughly enjoyed on a TV. On the other hand, I’d like for it to have a sense of relaxation that will let you enjoy demon fusing while plopped down a bed, as with Shin Megami Tensei IV and Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse on 3DS. There are some other gameplay elements [in mind], but our goal is to make it a proper title for both home console and portable console.

Of course, I want it to have many demons, and I want to work on making it suitable for the hardware’s specs. As for the effort we’re putting into demons this time around, I believe we’re putting in about three times the amount of effort for each demon compared to previous titles.

RIP in pieces, Wii U

New Year's Resolutions 2016

01 January 2016 - 10:42 AM

This thread will have less than 5 responses, but, what are your new years resolutions?

I'm revisiting this thread in 364 days to see if you followed up on them, so... what are they?

I want to write a song and sing it at an open mic. It's a personal challenge, and something I've never done before.

I set a reminder in my phone to open this thread, so, NO BULLSHIT!

Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse - Sept 20th.

06 October 2015 - 01:10 PM

Well it's like my birthday. Eccentric RPG maker, Atlus, has decided to make a new game based off of Shin Megami Tensei 4. It seems like a direct sequel, though they're not calling it that yet, since SMT games usually have four or more alternate endings.

SMT IV: Final

Here is some art from Atlus.

Ow, the edge. Why the hell is does Navarre look like Slimer? Atlus, that's why. Also demon titties on the left make me feel better that this won't be some kid's game (I was worried when I saw Slimer Navarre) This is the most color I've seen in an SMT promo.

Here are some articles if you're interested.

Seems like a big focus is put on the characters this time, which is cool. I wonder how this will play out, as this is a definite day one buy for me if they localize it! :)

Gamestop knows it's dying, gets desparate.

17 September 2015 - 06:15 AM

Okay, that wasn't the title of the article, but I liked mine better. According to this GiantBomb article, Gamestop will refuse to sell a bundle without a "packed in" physical gamedisc. Meaning, if they're selling bundles with digital downloads, they can't resell the games in the future. Ultimately, physical game media is slowly fading away, and Gamestop is using strong arming and wheelin' and dealin' to get third parties to pack in discs with console bundles. Seems like a temporary fix, especially since I highly doubt consoles will have disc drives in their future generations. Gamestop will be Blockbuster one day, goodnight.

Personally, I am not buying a physical game after Wii U. I don't have space in my house, and I love being able to bootup digital games and get to playing. Sure, there's nostalgia in boxes, box art, etc.. but I don't have a collector mentality, and I don't have attachments to my "things" so this is farewell to gamestop. :)
